Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise campers at all times throughout the day, including transition periods and engage campers in appropriate activities throughout the day
  • Design and lead age appropriate activity plans for schedule blocks that not hosted by a Program Coordinator

Qualifications, Skills, and Ability:  

  • Junior Counselors must be at least 16 years of age and Senior Counselors must be at least 18 years of age
  • Experience working with children and young adults (preferred)
  • Desire and ability to work with children outdoors in varied conditions

Other Job Duties:

  • Participate in camp activities, programs and meetings, including staff meetings
  • Assist in general maintenance and upkeep of Camp and shared facilities

Primary Role: To further the mission of Garrett Williamson by assisting the Summer Camp Food Service Manager in the daily operations of the food service program. The successful Summer Camp Food Service Assistant will ensure the safety and cleanliness of the facilities and will aid in the daily operations of the food service program.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure all dishes, utensils, supplies, and kitchen equipment is washed, sanitized, and dried and properly stored after every use
  • Assist the Summer Camp Food Service Manager with the assembly of ingredients to ensure they are ready for food preparation

Primary Role: To further the mission of Garrett Williamson by assisting with planning, developing and delivering year-round educational, recreational and agricultural programs in the Camp and Agriculture Education Department.

Immediate Supervisor: Director of Camp and Agriculture Education

Essential Job Functions:

Program & Curriculum Management:

  • Assist the Director of Camp and Agriculture Education in managing daily operations by supporting staff, overseeing participant safety, and monitoring the delivery of programs.
  • Support the Camp and Agriculture Education Department Director in recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and evaluating staff.
  • Manage the enrollment process for Agriculture Education programs and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with the management and maintenance of Camp and Agriculture Education records, including but not limited to, schedules, rosters, inventory and training materials.
  • Lead the Agriculture Education program by acquiring and/or developing curriculum to create age-appropriate lesson plans that align with state standards.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Camp and Agriculture Education, organize and staff evening and weekend programs related to Camp and Agriculture Education.
  • Assist with program logistics, including but not limited to, preparing materials, participating in lesson delivery, and securing transportation for field trips.
  • Assist with the maintenance of all relevant accreditations, including but not limited to, ACA Accreditation for summer camp; evaluate and implement additional accreditation initiatives where appropriate.
  • Assume responsibilities of the department when Director of Camp and Agriculture Education is off-site, off duty or otherwise unavailable.
  • Teach, model and enforce safety procedures amongst all staff, participants and volunteers in Camp and Agriculture Education programs.

Budget & Financial Management:

  • Adhere to the department budget when ordering equipment and supplies.

Community Engagement & Collaboration:

  • Create and maintain positive relationships with supervisors, co-workers, subordinates, families, program participants, vendors, and the community.

Other Duties:

  • Assist with organization-wide events as needed

Qualifications, Skills, and Ability:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Agricultural Education, Education, or a related Human Services field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 2 years experience working with children in a recreational or educational setting preferred.
  • Supervision and/or program management experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
