Summer camp seasonal positions
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervise campers at all times throughout the day, including transition periods and engage campers in appropriate activities throughout the day
- Design and lead age appropriate activity plans for schedule blocks that not hosted by a Program Coordinator
- Working with your Junior Summer Camp Counselor, teach campers how to communicate effectively, build relationships and respect diversity
- Maintain accurate attendance records, first aid logs (if needed), and open communication with camper parents/guardians
- Administer basic first aid and provide emotional support when necessary
- Enforce safety protocols and guidelines
- Educate campers and your Junior Counselor on identifying, resolving, and avoiding conflict
- Maintain clear and positive written and verbal communication with camp staff, campers, parents and all other contacts associated with Camp Garrett
- Create and maintain positive business and working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, families, campers, and the community
Qualifications, Skills, and Ability:
- Junior Counselors must be at least 16 years of age and Senior Counselors must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience working with children and young adults (preferred)
- Desire and ability to work with children outdoors in varied conditions
Other Job Duties:
- Participate in camp activities, programs and meetings, including staff meetings
- Assist in general maintenance and upkeep of Camp and shared facilities
- If assigned, fulfill the role of Head Senior Counselor by being a resource for Senior Counselors who need support with scheduling, games and activities, and general camp policies and procedures

Primary Role: To further the mission of Garrett Williamson by assisting the Summer Camp Food Service Manager in the daily operations of the food service program. The successful Summer Camp Food Service Assistant will ensure the safety and cleanliness of the facilities and will aid in the daily operations of the food service program.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure all dishes, utensils, supplies, and kitchen equipment is washed, sanitized, and dried and properly stored after every use
- Assist the Summer Camp Food Service Manager with the assembly of ingredients to ensure they are ready for food preparation
- Assist with serving food to campers and staff ensuring each meal is offered with all required components, and enforcing safety and cleanliness protocols ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations relating to food preparation and service
- Maintain records for the Summer Camp Food Service Program including collecting lunch count slips and documenting meals served and daily temperature checks
- Assist in receiving, stocking and organizing all food deliveries, and promptly identify and report any errors to the Summer Camp Food Service Manager
- Foster and sustain positive relationships with supervisors, coworkers, families, campers and the community to promote a collaborative and supportive environment

Essential Job Functions:
- Care for and provide First Aid to campers and staff in need and respond to medical emergencies
- Communicate with families about campers’ health and educate campers, staff and parents about health and wellness related issues
- Supervise health and cleanliness standards and keep thorough records of care provided
- Review all camper health forms upon arrival at camp and alert counselors of campers’ special needs and pertinent medical information
- Manage supplies and inventory of First Aid Station and Kits and place new orders when necessary
- Support staff with first aid related questions or issues for campers
- Manage allergies with kitchen and communicate pertinent medical info to group leaders regarding campers in their care
- Establish allergy protocols and supervise lunch periods to ensure campers and staff are not accidentally exposed to allergens

Primary Role: To further the mission of Garrett Williamson by assisting with planning, developing and delivering year-round educational, recreational and agricultural programs in the Camp and Agriculture Education Department.
Immediate Supervisor: Director of Camp and Agriculture Education
Essential Job Functions:
Program & Curriculum Management:
- Assist the Director of Camp and Agriculture Education in managing daily operations by supporting staff, overseeing participant safety, and monitoring the delivery of programs.
- Support the Camp and Agriculture Education Department Director in recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and evaluating staff.
- Manage the enrollment process for Agriculture Education programs and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with the management and maintenance of Camp and Agriculture Education records, including but not limited to, schedules, rosters, inventory and training materials.
- Lead the Agriculture Education program by acquiring and/or developing curriculum to create age-appropriate lesson plans that align with state standards.
- In collaboration with the Director of Camp and Agriculture Education, organize and staff evening and weekend programs related to Camp and Agriculture Education.
- Assist with program logistics, including but not limited to, preparing materials, participating in lesson delivery, and securing transportation for field trips.
- Assist with the maintenance of all relevant accreditations, including but not limited to, ACA Accreditation for summer camp; evaluate and implement additional accreditation initiatives where appropriate.
- Assume responsibilities of the department when Director of Camp and Agriculture Education is off-site, off duty or otherwise unavailable.
- Teach, model and enforce safety procedures amongst all staff, participants and volunteers in Camp and Agriculture Education programs.
Budget & Financial Management:
- Adhere to the department budget when ordering equipment and supplies.
Community Engagement & Collaboration:
- Create and maintain positive relationships with supervisors, co-workers, subordinates, families, program participants, vendors, and the community.

Qualifications, Skills, and Ability:
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Agricultural Education, Education, or a related Human Services field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software programs.

Primary Role: To further the mission of Garrett Williamson by working with the Child Care Director to inspire a team of Early Childhood Professionals, participate in center management through hands-on leadership and create high-quality student learning experiences.
Immediate Supervisor: Child Care Director
Essential Job Functions:
- Collaborate with Child Care Director and implement strategies to maintain the day-to-day operations of the center
- Work with Child Care Director to meet and maintain Pennsylvania Department of Human Services state licensing requirements and Keystone Stars Accreditation standards for child care settings
- Serve as the Education Director for classrooms licensed by the Department of Education (DOE).
- Ensure lesson plans are developed and implemented based on the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards
- Ensure teachers document observations regarding children’s development and complete associated checklists and assessments throughout the year
- Ensure students are properly supervised and engaged at all times, including transition periods, while maintaining state regulated ratios
