Spring Migratory Bird Walk

May 9 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Free

Garrett Williamson is pleased to host this special spring birding event, led by accomplished birders Michael McGraw and Phil Witmer, in partnership with Bird Town Pennsylvania, Newtown Square Environmental Advisory Council, and CRC Watersheds Association.

Scheduled during the peak of spring migration, this “rain or shine” event offers the chance to observe a wide variety of bird species. Participants may see warblers, sparrows, red-tailed hawks, black and turkey vultures, and with a bit of luck, even bald eagles or bobolinks, along with many other birds that breed in Pennsylvania.

Set on Garrett Williamson’s 240-acre property, this guided experience will take place across approximately four miles of walking trails. The landscape includes open fields, meadows, riparian areas along a tributary to Crum Creek, and predominantly beech forest. With a mix of habitats and natural edges, the property provides an ideal environment for bird activity. As this land is typically private and not open to the public, this event offers a rare opportunity to explore it.

Please note: This event is not recommended for younger children.

This program is free to attend, but registration is required. Birding events at Garrett Williamson tend to fill quickly, so early registration is encouraged.
